The story of the name
Why "KinectedCare"? Because the two ideas at the heart of the app — being connected, and being kin — turned out to be the same idea.
The short answer. The name joins kin and connected, with care as the result: keeping a family in touch with a parent who lives apart, and turning that connection into care.
Updated October 2026.
Naming the app, we kept circling two words. Connected, because the whole point is keeping a family in touch with a parent who lives apart — closing the distance that worry feeds on. And kin, because the people who show up for an aging parent are rarely a call center; they're family, chosen family, neighbors, and friends.
"KinectedCare" fuses them — kin and connected — with care as the thing that results. The two figures in our logo say it without words: one reaching toward the other, neither one alone. The deep navy gives it the weight of something you can trust with the people you love; the warm coral keeps it human.
A name is a small thing, but it sets the tone. We didn't want a clinical name or an alarm-company name. We wanted one that sounds like what caregiving actually is at its best: staying connected to your kin, and turning that connection into care.
The phrase “connected care” also has a healthcare meaning. Here is what it means to us.
