Does KinectedCare watch what my parent does on their phone?

No. The still-here check is one signal that says the phone is in contact. It holds the last time the phone was in contact, and whether the phone appeared to be moving, never where it is, and it carries no health information. It keeps no history, and there is no everyday screen that shows what your parent is doing. The check is used to send the notice and, after a fall the phone recorded, to show the CareTeam when the phone last checked in. It stays inside your parent’s own CareView and is never sold or shared for other purposes.

The privacy line we drew

A safety net that watches your parent is not a safety net they will accept. So the still-here check is deliberately small.

It is a single signal. It holds the last time the phone was in contact, and whether the phone appeared to be moving, never where it is, and it carries no health information. It never records what your parent does or how they use the phone.
It keeps no history. Each signal overwrites the last, so nothing can show when the phone was on or off or what a day looks like.
It is used to send the notice. It tells the CareTeam when the phone has gone quiet and, after a fall the phone recorded, shows the CareTeam when the phone last checked in. There is no everyday screen that shows “what Mom is doing.”
The notice is about the phone, never about health, and it arrives as an ordinary notification, not the louder alerts reserved for real emergencies.
It stays in their CareView. It is not shared with a third party and never sold.

Why this matters to a family

The idea is presence, not a dashboard. You should not need to check a dashboard to feel your parent is okay, and they should not feel observed. If the phone goes quiet, you are told. Otherwise, nothing.

Can I see when my parent's phone was last in contact?

Does the still-here signal include my parent’s location?

The still-here signal itself carries no location. It records when the phone was last in contact and whether it appeared to be moving.

Does my parent have to agree?

The check is on by default and described in KinectedCare’s privacy policy. The background version also needs the location permission your parent grants on their phone. Talk with them about it as you set up.

Is the data sold?

No. KinectedCare has no ads and does not sell data. The signal stays inside your parent’s own CareView and is used to send the notice and, after a fall the phone recorded, to show the CareTeam when the phone last checked in.

Does KinectedCare detect falls or monitor health?

No. KinectedCare does not detect falls or monitor health. The still-here check only tells the CareTeam that the phone itself has gone quiet. Fall detection is the watch’s own feature, and the watch’s operating system handles the emergency response.

Does KinectedCare replace emergency services?

No. KinectedCare is not a medical device or an emergency service. If someone may be hurt, call local emergency services first.
